1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove attaching bolt, then remove neutral safety switch from transaxle.
3. Place shift lever in Neutral position.
4. Using a screwdriver, position neutral safety switch a shown in Fig. 7. Switch should click at this position.
5. Install neutral safety switch to manual shift shaft and loosely install attaching bolt.
6. Rotate switch slightly until a click is heard, then tighten attaching bolt to 9.5 to 16.5 ft. lbs., Fig. 8.
7. Connect electrical connector to switch and battery ground cable to battery, then check switch for proper operation.
