Accumulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Remove transmission fluid filter. Refer to Transmission Filter. Service and Repair
2. Remove valve body. Refer to Valve Body. Service and Repair

3. Cover accumulators with a clean cloth and apply regulated low compressed air slowly to fluid passage, Fig. 11, until air pressure forces second brake, direct clutch and forward clutch accumulators from transmission case bores.

INSTALLATION

1. Apply automatic transmission fluid to TV cable O-ring, then install O-ring on cable.
2. Install TV cable to transmission.

3. Apply automatic transmission fluid to O-rings, springs and install on accumulator pistons, Fig. 12.

4. Install accumulator pistons in transmission bores, Fig. 13.
5. Install valve body. Refer to Valve Body. Service and Repair
6. Install fluid filter. Refer to Transmission Filter. Service and Repair
