Heater Core Case: Service and Repair

Heater Case Mounting Fasteners:

Heater Case Disassembly:

Heater Case (Exploded View):

Remove or Disconnect

1. I/P.
2. Drain engine cooling system.
3. Clamps and beater hoses from heater core at bulkhead.
4. Blower case-to-heater case air duct at heater case (non-A/C only).
5. Two bolts, two nuts and heater case from vehicle.

Disassemble

1. Heater case retaining clips and two screws.
2. Separate heater case halves.
3. Doors and linkages.

Assemble

1. Doors and linkages.
2. Position heater case halves together.
3. Retaining clips and two screws to heater case.

Install or Connect

1. Heater case to vehicle; secure with two nuts and two bolts.
2. Blower case-to-heater case air duct at heater case (non-A/C).
3. Heater hoses and clamps to heater core.

Tighten

^ Heater case mounting bolts and nuts to 10 N.m. (89 lb. in.).

4. Refill engine cooling system.
5. I/P.
