Brake Bleeding: Service and Repair






NOTE: Reservoir on master cylinder must be full at start of bleeding procedure and checked after bleeding each wheel cylinder. Add fluid as required. Use only DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid.

1. Have assistant slowly pump brake pedal several times, then apply steady pressure.
2. Loosen brake bleed screw to allow air to escape from system. Then tighten bleed screw securely.
Torque:
Front bleed screw: 9 Nm (7 ft.lbs.)
Rear bleed screw: 7 Nm (5 ft.lbs.)
3. Repeat procedure for each wheel in sequence shown above, until air bubbles no longer appear in fluid.
4. Check brake performance by road testing.
