Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

Fig. 8 Component & Bolt Locations For Condenser Removal:





1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge refrigerant from system.
3. Remove radiator mount bolt nearest receiver, Fig. 8.
4. Remove bolts attaching receiver line clamp and flexible hose clamp, Fig. 8.
5. Disconnect low pressure switch leads.
6. Disconnect pressure and discharge hoses.
7. Disconnect sight glass line from receiver and cap all openings.

8. Remove two bolts holding condenser to bulkhead, Fig. 9.
9. Raise front of vehicle to gain access to condenser.
10. Push condenser up and out of grooves in rubber mount blocks, Fig. 9. Carefully pull forward to allow condenser to be removed through air dam.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Use new O-rings lubricated with refrigerant oil.
12. Leak test, evacuate and charge system.
