Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Slowly and carefully discharge refrigerant from A/C system.
3. Mark, then disconnect and cap receiver and suction line from evaporator assembly.
4. Remove grommets from receiver and suction line fittings, Fig. 15.
5. Remove both lower dash panel attaching screws, then the lower dash panel assemblies.
6. Disconnect vacuum line and electrical connector from blower motor assembly.
7. Remove sealing band located between blower motor and evaporator.
8. Remove blower motor attaching bolts, then the blower motor assembly.
9. Remove evaporator core attaching bolts, then the evaporator core assembly.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
