Windshield Molding:

CRACKED WINDSHIELDPROBLEM

Windshield cracking because of raised or curled sheet metal contacting the glass along the lower windshield base.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

1. Remove the windshield molding and then the windshield.

2. Thoroughly clean the windshield sealing surface on the body.

3. Inspect the base just above the sealing surface for raised or curled sheet metal. These will most likely be found 3 or 4 inches in from the lower corners.

4. Carefully flatten the raised or curled sheet metal with a hammer until it is smooth and even.

5. Make sure the sheet metal will not touch the windshield, then install the new windshield using only a urethane sealer.

Use operation number 831120 with a total time of 1.7 hours.
