Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

Driveshaft - Set Ring Guide

Driveshaft
Set Ring Guide

Most Honda cars (except '86 and later Accords, and '88 and later Preludes) use 26 mm set rings on the driveshafts. However, there are two types of 26 mm set ring; the difference between the two is their wire diameter.

Obviously, using the wrong set ring will either make it hard to engage the driveshaft or make it easy for the driveshaft to pop out. So, remember: always install a new set ring any time you remove a driveshaft, and always make sure that you're installing the right one.

P/N 44319-611-010, a 26 mm set ring with a 1.6 mm wire diameter is used on:

'76-80 Accords
'73-83 Civics
Early '84 Civic Standards.
'84-87 CRX 1300s & HFs
'79-82 Preludes

P/N 44319-SA-000, a 26 mm set ring with a 1.8 mm wire diameter is used on:

'81-85 Accords
'84 and later Civics (except those listed above)
'83-87 Preludes
