Vehicle Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Place transmission in Neutral, raise and support front of vehicle, block rear wheels and apply parking brake.
2. Push positive probe of voltmeter into No. 5 yellow terminal and negative probe into No. 32 black terminal at control unit connector.
3. With ignition switch in On position, rotate one front wheel slowly while observing voltmeter needle.
4. If needle swings once or more than 3 times, replace speed sensor.
5. If needle does not swing at all, check for bad electrical connection, fuse or faulty speed sensor, repair or replace as necessary and repeat test.
