Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Remove two sensor shear screws, then the sensor.
2. Align pin of new sensor with throttle valve shaft groove, then install and temporarily tighten sensor shear screws.
3. Disconnect control unit connectors, then connect the system checker harness part between control unit and wire harness connector, Fig. 23.
4. Connect voltmeter positive probe to terminal C7 or system checker harness and negative probe to terminal C12, Fig. 23.
5. Turn ignition on, then adjust throttle angle sensor until 0.48---0.52 volt is obtained. Ensure throttle lever is against throttle stop screw when adjusting sensor switch.
6. After specified voltage is obtained, tighten shear screws until hex heads twist off.
