Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Accord & 1986---87 Prelude
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Relieve fuel pressure, refer to ``Relieving System Fuel Pressure'' procedure.
3. Remove air cleaner case, if necessary, then disconnect injector electrical connector.
4. Disconnect vacuum hose and fuel return hose from the pressure regulator.
5. Disconnect two intake manifold ground cables, if equipped, then the fuel lines.
6. Remove injector from intake manifold.
7. Install new cushion ring and O-ring on the injector, then the injector in hole of fuel pipe.
8. Press seal ring into the intake manifold, then install injector and fuel pipe assembly in manifold, aligning center line of injector electrical connector with index mark on the intake manifold.
9. Install and tighten injector attaching nuts, then connect two intake manifold ground cables.
10. Connect vacuum hose and fuel return hose to fuel pressure regulator, then the injector electrical connector.
