Actuator/Cable Replacement

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Pull back boot and loosen locknut, then disconnect cable from bracket, Fig. 48.
3. Disconnect cable end from actuator rod.
4. Disconnect 4-P connector.
5. Pull ventilation hose from grommet.
6. Disconnect vacuum hose from check valve.
7. Remove two actuator mount attaching bolts, then the actuator with bracket and reservoir.
8. Disconnect cable end from linkage over accelerator pedal, then turn grommet 90° in firewall and remove cable.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Refer to Adjustment Procedures for proper actuator cable adjustment.
