ECU Test Harness Installation

If the inspection for a particular failure code requires the ECU test harness, remove the right door sill molding, the small cover on the right kick panel, and pull the carpet back to expose the ECU. Remove the bolts securing the ECU bracket. With the ignition switch off, connect the ECU test harness. Then check the system according to the procedure described for the appropriate code(s) listed. The purpose of the ECU test harness is to allow circuit testing without having to back-probe the ECU harness. If the ECU test harness is unavailable, CAREFUL back probing of the ECU harness will have to be performed.
