Distributor Removal:






DISTRIBUTOR ASSEMBLY



1. Disconnect the secondary ignition wires from the distributor cap.

2. Disconnect the 2 pin and 8 pin connectors from the distributor.

3. Remove the 3 distributor hold down bolts and remove the distributor from the cylinder head.

NOTE: Coat a new O ring with engine oil prior to installing the distributor

4. Install the distributor in cylinder head.

Aligning Distributor Lugs And Camshaft Grooves:






NOTE: The possibility of installing the distributor 180° out of time is eliminated by offset lugs on the end of the distributor shaft

5. Connect the 4 pin connector to the distributor.

6. Connect the secondary ignition wires.

7. Adjust ignition timing. Refer to Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Adjustments.



8. Torque distributor hold down bolts to specifications.
