Camshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

When checking continuity of a sensor coil be sure to first disconnect the connector at the distributor. Use the table below to test the resistance of each sensor. Resistance of each coil should be 350 - 700 Ohms.

SENSOR TERMINAL WIRE COLORS

TDC C ORN/BLU
G WHT/BLU

CKP B BLU/GRN
F BLU/YEL

CYP D ORN
H WHT

Any failure of the TDC/CKP/CYP sensors should be accompanied by a code (DTC 8 / DTC 4 / DTC 9) being set in the Engine Control Module (ECM).
