Variable Valve Timing Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Valve Timing Electronically Controlled (VTEC) Pressure Switch sends a signal to the Programmed Fuel Injection Electronic Control Module (PGM-FI ECM) confirming that the VTEC solenoid has engaged the VTEC system.

OPERATION
As the VTEC Solenoid Valve supplies oil pressure to activate the system, oil pressure is applied to the VTEC Pressure Switch also. The switch sends an electrical signal to the PGM-FI-ECM.
