Brake Signal: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Brake Switch Signal informs the Programmed Fuel Injection Electronic Control Module (PGM-FI ECM) whenever the brakes are applied, to modify idle speed and charging voltages as necessary.

OPERATION
The 12 volt Brake Switch Signal is produced by the brake light switch as the driver depresses the brake pedal. This is the same switch which operates the brake lights at the rear of the vehicle.
