Electric Load Sensor: Description and Operation
Electrical Load Detector (ELD) Location:
PURPOSE The Electrical Load Detector
(ELD), mounted in the under-hood relay box, senses the total amperage draw placed on the electrical system.
OPERATION The ELD sends a voltage reference to the Programmed Fuel Injection Electronic Control Module
(PGM-FI ECM) which then determines and controls the charge rate of the alternator.
