Installation
1. Using vernier caliper, measure thickness of each pad lining. Compare measurement with specifications. If brake lining thickness is less than specified, replace both pads as a set.2. Clean caliper thoroughly, and check for grooves or cracks, repair or replace as necessary.
3. Install pad retainers, then apply Molykote M77 compound, or equivalent, to both sides of pad shim and install brake pads and pad shims.
4. Rotate caliper piston clockwise into place, then align cutout in piston with tab on inner pad by turning piston back. Lubricate piston boot with silicone grease to avoid twisting piston boot. If boot is twisted, back it out until it sits properly.
5. Install caliper, then the caliper bolts. Tighten caliper bolts to specifications.
6. Install wheel and tire assembly, then lower vehicle.
7. Pump brake pedal several times to position brake pads before moving vehicle.
