Front

1. On models equipped with radio coded theft protection system, refer to Vehicle Damage Warnings for system disarming and arming procedures. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge and recover system refrigerant.
3. Disconnect receiver and suction lines. To avoid moisture and dust contamination, plug or cap lines immediately.
4. Remove dashboard lower cover, center console and stoppers from glove box.
5. Remove damper from glove box and electrical connectors from glove box frame, then remove two bolts and glove box frame together with glove box.
6. Disconnect electrical connector from A/C thermostat, then remove four screws, two mounting nuts and mounting bolt.

7. Disconnect drain hose, then remove evaporator, Fig. 25.
8. Remove A/C thermostat sensor from evaporator fins.

9. Remove screws and clamps from housings, then separate housings and remove evaporator core, Fig. 26.
10. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. If installing a new evaporator, add suitable refrigerant oil.
b. Reinstall A/C thermostat sensor to its original location.
c. Replace O-rings with new ones at each fitting and apply a thin coat of refrigerant oil before installing them.
d. Make sure that there is no air leakage.
e. Charge system, and test its performance.
