Heated Glass Element Switch: Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Before testing, check for a blown No.13 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.

1. Carefully remove the switch from the instrument panel.

Rear Window Defogger-Switch Input Test:

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check the voltage at the BLK/YEL (+) and BLK (-) terminals. There should be battery voltage.
^ If there is no voltage, check for an open in the BLK/YEL wire.
^ If there is battery voltage, go to step 3.
3. Connect a jumper wire between the BLK/YEL and BLU/YEL terminals. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the rear window defogger works; if it does, replace the defogger switch.
