Front Windows Bind or Make Noise
SYMPTOM
One or both front windows bind or make noise when going up or down.
PROBABLE CAUSE
A defective glass run channel, misadjusted glass channels, or insufficient lubrication in the window regulator.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Vehicles from VIN 2HKRL18...XH500000 thru XH510788:
Inspect the window regulator guide rail for proper lubrication, replace the glass run channel, and adjust the glass channels.

Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by the District Service Manager or your Zone office. You must request consideration, and get a decision, before starting work.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the affected door glass and window regulator (see page 20-11 of the 1999-00 Odyssey Service Manual).
2. Inspect the regulator guide rail for grease. If it does not have any on it, apply a light film of urea grease to the edge and sides of the rail along its entire length.
3. Check the VIN of the vehicle you are repairing:
^ If it is from VIN 2HKRL18...XH500000 thru XH510788, go to step 4.
^ If it is from VIN 2HKRL18...XH5510789 thru XH531901, go to step 11.
4. Remove the door mirror cover by releasing the clip, then slide the cover upward to release the tab.
5. Mark the location of the door glass guide clip with a piece of tape, then remove the clip.
6. Loosen the four bolts that secure the mirror. Do not remove the mirror.
7. Remove and discard the glass run channel.
8. ReInstall the door glass guide clip at the mark you made in step 5.
9. Clean the window frame, then apply a small amount of 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive to the new glass run channel in the locations shown.
10. Install the new glass run channel, then continue to step 11.
11. Reinstall the window regulator and door glass in the reverse order of removal. Do not tighten the regulator bolts yet.
12. Close the window, then torque the bolts on the regulator to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft).
13. Loosen the three bolts that secure the glass channels, then lower the glass all the way.
14. Torque the glass channel bolts to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft).
15. Torque the door mirror bolts to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft), then reinstall the mirror cover.
16. Reinstall all other removed parts In the reverse order of removal.
17. Open and close the window several times to make sure the binding or noise is gone.
