REPAIR PROCEDURE
The immobilizer system in the 2000 Accord allows you to replace the PCM with only one ignition key available. You need to download the immobilizer key codes from the original PCM to the PGM Tester, then upload those codes to the new PCM.
1. Obtain the four-digit PCM code from your DCS 2000 system.
2. Connect the PGM Tester to the 16P DLC.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
4. Enter the VIN information.
5. From the SYSTEM SELECT menu, select 5: IMMOBI.
6. From the TEST MODE MENU - IMM menu, select 3: REPLACE BY ONE KEY
7. Follow the PGM Tester screen prompts to download the immobilizer key codes to the Tester.
8. When the download is complete, turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0). Disconnect the PGM Tester.
9. Pull back the carpet on both sides of the center console.
10. Disconnect the four electrical connectors from the PCM. Remove the two PCM mounting bolts, then remove the PCM.
11. Install the new PCM in the reverse order of removal.
12. The replacement PCM used for this product update allows the engine to be started 12 times without the immobilizer codes installed. Before proceeding, start and stop the engine 12 times. Then verify that it will not start on the 13th try.
13. Reconnect the PGM Tester to the 16P DLC. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
14. Follow the PGM Tester screen prompts to upload the immobilizer key codes into the PCM.
15. When the upload is complete, turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
16. Disconnect the PGM Tester.
17. Turn the ignition switch ON (II). Make sure the Immobilizer indicator on the instrument panel goes off after about 2 seconds.
18. Start the engine to make sure the PCM is properly rewritten.
19. Center-punch a campaign completion mark above the sixth character (6) of the engine compartment VIN.
