Center Sliding Door Rail: Service and Repair
Sliding Door Center Rail ReplacementNOTE:
- Be sure to disable the power sliding door by turning the main switch off.
- Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the power sliding door motor unit.
- Use seat covers to avoid damaging any surfaces.
- Take care not to scratch the body.
- Take care not to drop and damage the door.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
1. Remove these items:
- Sliding door
- Rear side trim panel
- Second row seat belt retractor
- Taillight
- Rear blower unit (right side only).
2. Manual sliding door: Remove the center roller from the center rail.
3. Power sliding door: Remove screws, then remove the speaker, and disconnect the connector.
4. Power sliding door: Pull back the plastic cover.
5. Power sliding door right side: Release the hooks then remove the blower unit cover.
6. Detach the cable clips. Pull up the stoppers, and push the cables toward the motor.
7. Pull up the stoppers father up to hold the cables in place.
8. Remove the bolt (A) and screw (B), then slide the center rail cover (C) back and remove it.
9. Power sliding door: Release the power sliding door motor unit cable from the center rail.
10. Power sliding door. Remove the center roller.
11. Power sliding door Disconnect the power sliding door motor unit cable from the center roller.
12. Remove the screws (A), release the clips (B), and remove the center rail cover spacer (C).
13. Remove the nuts from inside the vehicle.
14. Remove the center rail (A).
15. Install the center rail in the reverse order of removal. Clean the groove portion of the center rail (A) and if equipped with power sliding door, apply multipurpose grease to the corner portion of the sliding door, as shown.
