Carpet Replacement
Carpet ReplacementSRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the floor covering.
- Be careful not to damage the dashboard or other interior trim pieces.
Front Carpet
1. Remove these items:
- Front seats, both sides.
- Front door sill trim, both sides.
- Kick panels, both sides.
- Dashboard center lower cover.
2. Remove the front carpet (A).
1. Remove the clips.
2. Release the fasteners (B), then pull the carpet out from under the B-pillar lower trim (C).
3. Release the hooks (D) on both sides.
4. Release the fastener (E) on the front edge of the carpet, then pull back the carpet from under the dashboard.
3. Remove the front carpet.
4. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the seat harnesses are routed correctly.
Rear Carpet
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
1. Remove these items:
- Sliding door sill trim, both sides
- Rear side trim panel, both sides
- Sliding door opening trim, both sides
- Detachable console or second row center seat
- Second row seats, both sides
- Third row seats, both sides
- Tailgate weatherstrip, as needed
2. Detach the clips (A, B) then remove the third row seat striker cover (C).
3. Remove the screws (A, B) and detach the clip (C), then remove the second row seat striker covers (D, E, F), and second row seat hook covers (G, H).
4. For Van: Release the fasteners (A) and remove the bolts, then remove the floor recess lid (B).
5. Pull up the front carpet (A), then detach the clips (B) and release the fasteners (C). Release the clips (D), then remove the rear carpet (E).
6. Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Take care not to damage, wrinkle or twist the carpet.
- Make sure the seat harness is routed correctly.
- Check the clips for damage or stress-whitening, and replace them with new one.
- Push the clips into place securely.
