Front Seat Removal/Installation

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.

NOTE:
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.
- Take care not to scratch the body or tear the seat covers.
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- DTC codes will set if the ignition is turned ON (II) with the seats removed.

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the radio station and XM radio channel presets.
2. Tilt the steering wheel all the way up.




3. Passenger's: Slide the seat all the way forward, and remove the rear outer seat track cover (A) from the back of the seat track by detaching the clips and releasing the hook (B).




4. Passenger's: Remove the rear inner seat track cover (A) from the back of the seat track by detaching the clips.




5. Passenger's: Remove the bolt (A), and release the hook (B), then remove the lower anchor bracket (C) from the outer weight sensor (D).







6. On the 8-way power seat, detach the side clips and middle hooks (A), then remove the rear riser cover (B).
7. Slide the seat fully to the rear to access the front riser cover




8. Detach the clip and release the hook (A), and remove the front riser cover (B) from both sides.
9. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.




10. Remove the bolts securing the front seat (A).










11. Lift up the front seat, then detach the harness clips (A) on the manual height adjustable seat, and disconnect the connectors;

Manual seat: Side airbag connector (B), seat subharness connector (C), weight sensor unit connector (D), and woofer connector (E) (for some models)

Manual height adjustable seat: Side airbag connector (B), seat belt switch connector (F), and position sensor subharness connector (G)

8-way power seat: Side airbag connector (B), power seat harness connectors (H), navigation unit connectors (I) (for some models), and GPS antenna harness connector (J) (with navigation system)

12. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the front seat through the front door opening.




13. Install the seat in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply liquid thread lock to the front seat mounting bolts before reinstallation.
- Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
- Tighten the seat mounting bolts to the specified torque in the sequence shown. Slide the seat all the way back and tighten (1) and (2), then slide it forward and tighten (3) and (4).
- Passenger's seat: Before installing the front seat belt lower anchor, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the belts.
- Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then enter the customer's radio station presets, or XM radio channel presets.
- Reset the clock.
- Perform the power window control unit reset procedure.
