Front and Rear A/C Temperatures Do Not Match

(Supersedes 04-074, dated December 21, 2004, to update the information indicated by the asterisks)

SYMPTOM

*The rear temperature is significantly hotter than the front temperature when the REAR LOCK button is on.*

PROBABLE CAUSE

The climate control unit is improperly programmed.





VEHICLES AFFECTED

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the climate control unit.

*Update all affected vehicles that are currently in dealer inventory and all affected customer vehicles when they come in for maintenance or repair. Do a VIN Status Inquiry to verify eligibility.*

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Replace the climate control unit.

^ Refer to page 21-154 of the 2005 Odyssey Service Manual, or

^ Online, enter keyword CLIMATE REMOVAL, and select Climate Control Unit Removal and Installation (Front Climate Control) from the list.

3. Operate the A/C with the REAR LOCK button on to make sure that the front and rear temperatures are the same.
