DIAGNOSIS

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio and navigation Systems, then write down the customer's audio presets.

2. Fully open both rear power sliding doors (if equipped).

NOTE:
If the power sliding doors are not fully open or fully closed, or if the doors are moved when the battery is disconnected, you will need to re-home the doors after you reconnect the battery.

3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), then disconnect and isolate the negative cable from the battery. Wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

4. Remove the driver's door sill trim: Lift up on the sill trim to release the tabs, the hook, and the pins from the kick panel and the B-pillar lower trim. Pull up on the trim to release the three clips, and remove the trim.

5. Remove the driver's side sliding door sill trim: Lift up on the front of the sill trim to release the hook and pins from the B-pillar lower trim, then lift the rear of the trim to release the pins and hook from the rear side trim panel. Pull up on the sill trim to release the four clips, and remove the trim.

6. Pull up the driver's seat belt lower anchor cover, then remove the lower anchor bolt.

7. Pull out the driver's side front door opening trim and the sliding door opening trim near the B-pillar lower

8. Pull out the bottom of the driver's side B-pillar lower trim to release the two clips, then pull out the trim to release the upper hooks. Remove the lower trim.

9. Disconnect the floor wire harness 4P connector from the driver's seat belt tensioner.

10. Repeat steps 3 thru 8, except step 5, for the passenger's side.

11. Remove the driver's and passenger's lower heater covers: From under the dash, remove clip A, then detach clip B. Release the hook and stud, then remove the lower heater cover.

12. Open the beverage holder, then remove the four screws.

13. Pull out the dashboard center lower cover to release the four clips, then disconnect the seat heater connectors and accessory power socket connectors.

14. With rear entertainment system: Remove the four DVD player mounting screws, then pull out the player. Remove the wire harness clip, then disconnect the 22P connector and digital audio 2P connector from the DVD player.

15. Remove the heater lower duct.

16. Disconnect the three SRS unit connectors. Remove the four TORX bolts, then remove the SRS unit.

17. Check the part number printed on the top of the SRS unit. Also, check for a blue dot on the top of the unit.

^ If the SRS unit part number is NOT 77960-SHJ- A02, or it is NOT 77960-SHJ-A01 with a blue dot on the unit, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE to install a new SRS unit.

^ If the SRS unit part number is 77960-SHJ-A02, or 77960-SHJ-A01 with a blue dot on the unit, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE to reinstall the SRS unit, then do the service manual troubleshooting for the DTC found.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Install the SRS unit with the TORX bolts, and torque the bolts to 9.8 Nm (7.2 lb-ft). Connect the three connectors to the SRS unit, and push them into position until they click.

NOTE:
Make sure the SRS unit is sitting squarely against its mounting bracket before torquing the TORX bolts.

2. Reconnect both seat belt tensioner connectors.

3. Reinstall all removed parts, and note the following:

^ Make sure that each connector is plugged in properly.

^ Replace any damaged clips.

^ Torque the lower anchor bolt to 32 Nm (24 lb-ft).

4. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.

5. Confirm proper SRS operation: Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position; the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.

6. Enter the audio and navigation security codes, then enter the customer's audio presets. Set the clock.

7. Check the operation of both power sliding doors. If either sliding door does not operate correctly, rehome the door. To rehome the door, do this:

^ Turn off the main power sliding door switch, and make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).

^ Fully close the power sliding door manually (the control unit must see the full latch switch and the ratchet switch closed at the same time).

^ Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and turn on the main power sliding door switch.

^ Test the door operation with the power sliding door switch, the remote transmitter, and the inside and outside door handles.
