Tailgate Lower Handle ReplacementNOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to kink the cable.
1. Swing the tailgate open.
2. Remove the tailgate trim panel.
3. Remove the tailgate lower handle (A).
1. Detach the cable clip (B).
2. Remove the nuts securing the lower handle.
3. Pull out the handle and disconnect the lower handle cable (C).
4. Install the lower handle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to the stud-bolts before reinstalling the handle.
- Make sure the lower handle cable is connected securely.
- Make sure the tailgate opens in swing mode properly.
