Tailgate Shock / Support: Service and Repair

Tailgate Support Cable Replacement

1. Open the tailgate in drop-down mode about half-way, and hold it.

2. Using a T50 Torx bit, remove the bolts from the left tailgate upper striker (A) and tailgate, then remove the tailgate support cable (B).
3. Install the support cable in the reverse order of removal, and check for wear on the tailgate support cable, replace the cable if there are signs of wear on the protective cover.
