Variable Valve Timing Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Rocker Arm Oil Control Valve Inspection

1. Disconnect the rocker arm oil control solenoid 2P connector and the rocker arm oil pressure switch 2P connector.
2. Remove the rocker arm oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head assembly.




3. Measure resistance between rocker arm oil control solenoid 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2.




4. If the resistance is within specification, check the rocker arm oil control valve filter (A) for clogging. If it is clogged, replace the rocker arm oil control valve filter, the engine oil filter, and the engine oil.
