Overhaul

Dashboard/Steering Hanger Beam Disassembly/Reassembly

Special Tools Required
KTC trim tool set SOJATP2014 *
* Available through the American Honda Tool and Equipment Program

NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Take care not to bend the brackets.
- Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when prying components.

1. Remove the dashboard/steering hanger beam.
2. Remove these items from the dashboard:
- Driver's outer dashboard panel
- Center panel
- Tweeter, both sides
- Instrument panel
- Gauge control module
- Sunlight sensor
- Radio switch panel, with audio unit
- Shift lever
- Audio display-clock, with audio unit
- Dashboard side vent
- Passenger's airbag
- Center pocket
- Beverage holder




3. From the front of the dashboard, detach the harness clips (A, B).




4. Detach the harness clip (A), and disconnect the glove box light connector (B).




5. From the back of the dashboard, detach the tweeter harness clip (A).




6. From the back of the dashboard, detach the connectors (A), and release the sunlight sensor harness (B) from the hooks (C).




7. From the back of the dashboard, detach the tweeter harness clip (A).




8. From the back of the dashboard, detach the harness clip (A).




9. Remove the bolts (A) and screws (B), then separate the dashboard (C) and steering hanger beam (D), and disconnect the connectors (E).
10. Install the beam in the reverse order or removal, and note these items:
- Make sure the dashboard wire harness is not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly.
