Radiator: Service and Repair
Radiator ReplacementNOTE: Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the audio system and navigation system (if equipped). Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then disconnect the positive cable.
4. Remove the battery.
5. '07 model: Remove the front grille.
6. '08 model: Remove the front bumper.
7. Remove the upper radiator hose.
8. Remove the radiator and A/C condenser fan shroud.
9. Remove the lower radiator hose (A) and the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) cooler hoses (B). Plug the ATF cooler hoses and lines.
10. Remove the radiator upper brackets/cushions (A).
11. Remove the engine hood latch (B).
12. Pull up the radiator assembly (A), then remove the lower cushions (B).
13. Install the radiator and fans in the reverse order of removal.
14. Set the upper and the lower cushions securely.
15. Adjust the engine hood latch.
16. Install the battery.
17. Clean the battery posts and cable-terminals, then assemble them and apply grease to prevent corrosion.
18. Fill the radiator with engine coolant and bleed the air from the system.
19. Enter the anti-theft code for the audio system and navigation system (if equipped).
20. Set the clock (on vehicles without navigation).
