Hatch Support Strut Replacement

NOTE:

- Use eye protection when prying the support strut clips.

- Have an assistant hold the tailgate up while you replace the support struts.

1. Have an assistant hold the tailgate up, then use a flat-tip screwdriver (A) to pry the support strut clips (B) from each end of the support strut (C) at the hatch and body, then release the support strut from the pivot bolts (D). Do not remove the clips from the support strut.






2. Remove the bolts, then remove the bracket (A) from the hatch, and remove the pivot bolt (B).






3. Reinstall the pivot bolts and bracket. Set the clips (A) to the original position, then reattach the support strut (B) on the pivot bolts (C) by pushing on the support strut.
