Rear Door Weatherstrip: Service and Repair




Rear Door Weatherstrip Replacement

NOTE:

- Take care not to scratch the door.

- Use a clip remover to remove the clips.

1. Detach the clips (A, B), release the double-sided adhesive tape (C), then remove the door weatherstrip (D).

2. Install the weatherstrip in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

- Scrape off the remaining double-sided adhesive tape from the weatherstrip and the rear door, and clean the weatherstrip and rear door with isopropyl alcohol. Attach new double-sided adhesive tape (3M 4213, or equivalent) to the weatherstrip.

- Make sure the weatherstrip is installed in the holder (E) securely.

- Check for water leaks. Adjustments

- Test-drive the vehicle, and check for wind noise.
