Check for loose battery connections and all alternator circuit connections.

Check for a broken drive belt:

J35A6 engine Drive Belt Inspection (J35A6)

J35A7 engine Drive Belt Inspection (J35A7 Engine)

Test the battery Testing and Inspection.

Troubleshoot the alternator and regulator circuit Alternator and Regulator Circuit Troubleshooting.

Check the drive belt auto-tensioner:

Check for excessive parasitic electrical current draw with the ignition switch is in LOCK (0), and the key removed. The multiplex control unit may take up to 10 minutes to turn off (sleep mode) for some models.
