Wiper Blade: Service and Repair






Wiper Blade Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Step 1 shows removing the windshield wiper blade, step 2 shows removing the rear window wiper blade.

1. Windshield Wiper Blade





1. Lift the wiper arm off the windshield, raising the driver's side first, then the passenger's side.

2. Pull up the tab (A).

3. Slide the wiper blade assembly (B) off the wiper arm.





4. Find the blade holder labeled "SET" (A), then release the wiper blade from it.

5. Pull back the end of the blade holder and slide out the old wiper blade (B).





6. Remove the rails (A).

2. Rear Window Wiper Blade





1. Lift the wiper arm off the windshield, raising the driver's side first, then the passenger's side.

2. Pull up the tab (A).

3. Slide the wiper blade assembly (B) off the wiper arm.





4. Remove the holder (A) from the groove (B), then remove the wiper blade (C).

Installation

NOTE: Step 1 shows installing the rear window wiper blade, step 2 shows installing the windshield wiper blade.

1. Rear Window Wiper Blade





1. Install the new wiper blade (A) and set the holder (B) into the groove (C).





2. Install the wiper blade assembly (A) onto the rear window wiper arm (B).

3. Test by turning on the wipers. If the blades slip, turn off the wiper and seat the attachments more firmly.

2. Windshield Wiper Blade





1. Align the groove (A) on each rail (B) with those on the new blade (C).





2. Install the new wiper blade (A) until the "SET" (B).





3. Install the wiper blade assembly (A) onto the windshield wiper arm (B).

4. Test by turning on the wipers. If the blades slip, turn off the wipers and seat the attachments more firmly.
