Heater Core Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair




Service Information

Heater Core Temperature Sensor Removal, Installation, and Test

Removal

1. Glove Box





1. Remove the bolts (A).





2. Remove the glove box (A).

2. Passenger's Heater Duct





1. Remove the passenger's heater duct (A).

3. Heater Core Cover





1. Remove the heater core cover (A).

4. Heater Core Temperature Sensor





1. Detach the connector clip (A).

2. Remove the heater core temperature sensor (B).

Test

1. Heater Core Temperature Sensor - Test





1. Dip the sensor in ice water, and measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 of the heater core temperature sensor.

2. Then pour warm water on the sensor, and check for a change in resistance.





3. Compare the resistance readings with the specifications shown in the graph; the resistance should be within the specifications.

4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the heater core temperature sensor.

Installation

1. Heater Core Temperature Sensor





1. Install the heater core temperature sensor (A).

2. Install the connector clip (B).

2. Heater Core Cover





1. Install the heater core cover (A)

3. Passenger's Heater Duct





1. Install the passenger's heater duct (A).

4. Glove Box





1. Install the glove box (A).





2. Install the bolts (A).
