NOTE: The helical type limited slip differential (LSD) distributes optimum power between the two driving axles according to the difference in torque as demanded by the driving wheels. Under no circumstances should the engine be started with either front wheel raised off the ground, such as when adjusting wheel balance or when transporting the vehicle in the event of an accident.

1. Vehicle Lift

1. Raise the vehicle on a lift, and make sure it is securely supported.

2. M/T Differential Operation Check

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Shift the transmission into low gear.

3. Rotate either front wheel by hand, and check that the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction.

4. Replace the limited slip differential assembly if the opposite front wheel does not rotate, or if you can not spin the front wheels at all.
