Wiper Switch: Service and Repair






Wiper/Washer Switch Removal, Installation, and Test

Removal

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations Locations and the precautions and procedures Service and Repair before doing repairs or service.

1. Upper Column Cover





1. Remove the upper column cover (A).

2. Lower Column Cover





1. Remove the screws (A).





2. Remove the lower column cover (A).

3. Wiper/Washer Switch





1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Remove the wiper/washer switch (A) by pressing the tabs.

Test

1. Wiper/Washer Switch - Test









1. Inspect the connector terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.

* If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
* If the terminals are OK, go to step 2.

2. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

3. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the wiper/washer switch (A).

1. Install the wiper/washer switch (A).

2. Connect the connector.

2. Lower Column Cover





1. Install the lower column cover (A).





2. Install the screws (A).

3. Upper Column Cover





1. Install the upper column cover (A).
