Engine overheats

Check the coolant level Testing and Inspection.

Check for any coolant leakage (from gaskets, hoses, O-rings, etc.).

Check for dirt, leaves, or insects on radiator and A/C condenser.

Check for deteriorated coolant.

Check for damaged or deformed fan shroud.

Check that the fan motors are operating properly (air should be blowing toward the engine).

Inspect the fan motors Testing and Inspection or fan relays Testing and Inspection.

Check the radiator cap Testing and Inspection.

Check the thermostat Testing and Inspection.

Inspect the water pump Testing and Inspection.

Check for plugged or deteriorated radiator hoses.

Check for plugged heater core of hoses.

Check for a damaged cylinder head gasket.

Check the radiator and A/C condenser fan are operating properly.
