DVD player unit DISC IN indicator or DISC DISTINCTION indicator does not come on/does not go off

NOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition first Battery Test.

1. Check the DVD player (built into the audio-navigation unit or audio unit) operation.

Does the DVD player operate normally?

YES -

Operation is normal at this time.

NO -

Go to step 2.

2. Substitute a known-good disc, and recheck.

Does the DVD play normally?

YES -

Original disc is faulty.

NO -

- With navigation, substitute a known-good audio-navigation unit (including HDD) Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio-navigation unit Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation.
- Without navigation, substitute a known-good audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original audio unit Audio Unit Removal/Installation.
