Tailgate full latch switch circuit troubleshooting (With Power Tailgate)

NOTE:

- Before troubleshooting, check the B-CAN DTCs.If any DTC is indicated, refer to B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A, and troubleshoot the indicated DTCs first.
- Before troubleshooting, check for DTC B1382 B1382. If indicated, troubleshoot the DTC first.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. With the tailgate full closed, select SECURITY with the HDS, and enter the DATA LIST.

3. Check the ON/OFF information of the TRUNK LID/TAILGATE SWITCH in the DATA LIST.

Is information indicator ON?

YES -

Go to step 4.

NO -

Go to step 6.

4. Disconnect the power tailgate closer unit connector B (6P).

5. Check the ON/OFF information of the TRUNK LID/TAILGATE SWITCH in the DATA LIST.

Is information indicator OFF?

YES -

Faulty tailgate full latch switch; replace the tailgate latch Service and Repair.

NO -

Faulty rear MICU; replace the rear fuse box Rear Fuse Box (Rear MICU) Removal and Installation.

6. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

7. Disconnect rear fuse box connector A (49P).

8. Disconnect the power tailgate closer unit connector B (6P).

9. Check for continuity between power tailgate closer unit connector B (6P) terminal No. 5 and rear fuse box connector A (49P) terminal No. 9.





Is there continuity?

YES -

Faulty rear MICU; replace the rear fuse box Rear Fuse Box (Rear MICU) Removal and Installation.

NO -

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
