27. Attach the torque converter to the drive plate with eight bolts (A). Rotate the crankshaft pulley as necessary to tighten the bolts to half of the specified torque, then to the final torque, in a crisscross pattern. After tightening the last bolt, check that the crankshaft rotates freely.
28. Install the torque converter case cover (B).
29. Install exhaust pipe A Service and Repair.
30. Install the lower arm ball joint (A) to the knuckle on both sides, and loosely tighten new castle nuts (B).
NOTE: Wipe off any grease contamination from the lower arm ball joint and the tie-rod end ball joint tapered section and threads on both sides.
31. Tighten the castle nut on both sides to the lowest torque specification, then tighten it only far enough to align the slot with the ball joint pin hole. Do not align the castle nut by loosening it.
NOTE: Insert a new lock pin (C) into the ball joint pin hole from the front to the rear of the vehicle, and bend its end. Check the ball joint pin hole direction before connecting the ball joint.
32. Connect the tie-rod end ball joint (D) to the knuckle on both sides.
33. Install a new nut (E) on both sides, and tighten it to the specified torque.
34. Install a new cotter pin (F) on both sides, and bend its end.
