Front Electronic Locking Differential Coil Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the differential assembly. Refer to Front Differential Assembly Replacement (Front Differential Assembly Replacement).
3. Remove the differential side bearing. Refer to Differential Side Bearing Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the retaining bracket for the electronic locking coil wiring harness.




5. Using the appropriate tool, remove the retaining ring (1) for the bearing race (2) and the thrust bearing (2)
6. Remove the locking differential electronic coil (3).
7. Remove the locking cam (4) if needed.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the locking cam (4), if removed.
2. Install the locking differential electronic coil (4).
3. Install the thrust bearing and the bearing race (2).
4. Install the retaining ring (1).
5. Install the retaining bracket for the electronic locking coil wiring harness.
6. Install the differential side bearing. Refer to Differential Side Bearing Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Install the differential assembly. Refer to Front Differential Assembly Replacement (Front Differential Assembly Replacement).
8. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
