Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement (LH9,LLR)

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Exhaust Service Warning (Exhaust Service Warning).

Warning: Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Warning (Protective Goggles and Glove Warning).





1. If equipped with a 3.7L engine, remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLR) (Service and Repair).
2. If equipped with a 5.3L engine, remove the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LH8) (Service and Repair) and/or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LH8) (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield nuts (2) and shield (1).




4. If equipped with a 5.3L engine, remove the catalytic converter heat shield nuts (2) and shield (1).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. If equipped with a 5.3L engine, position the catalytic converter heat shield (1) to the underbody and install the nuts (2).

Tighten the nuts to 9 Nm (80 lb in).




2. Position the catalytic converter heat shield (1) to the underbody and install the nuts (2).

Tighten the nuts to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

3. If equipped with a 5.3L engine, install the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LH8) (Service and Repair) and/or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LH8) (Service and Repair).
4. If equipped with a 3.7L engine, install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLR) (Service and Repair).
