Basic Key-Cutting Information

BASIC KEY-CUTTING INFORMATION:

KEY-CUTTING CODES, MACHINES, AND GENERAL PROCEDURES:

Before ordering or cutting keys, use the pictures and chart below to determine which type(s) of keys are applicable to the particular model and trim level combination. Use the Hyundai Parts Catalog to obtain the correct key part number.

Table 4 - Hyundai Key, Key Fob, and Immobilizer System Chart

Note:
On PIC key systems, the key may be ordered separately from the key fob. Always consult the latest Hyundai Parts Catalog.

If the key is of the standard cut type, obtain the key code from the HMA DCS website under "Key Codes" and use key cutting equipment by following that machine's specific procedures.

If the key is of the internal (laser cut) type, it must be either ordered pre-cut from your Hyundai Motor America Parts Distribution Center or be cut on a specific key cutting machine using the key code.

NOTE:
The illustrations shown previously above are for general reference. Always confirm that the Key Fobs are correct by using the Hyundai Electronic Parts Catalog. Key Fobs that look similar may not be interchangeable.

NOTE:
To quickly confirm if a vehicle is equipped with an Immobilizer System you may also look for the symbol shown above in the instrument panel during the "bulb check sequence during startup.
