Lever Controlled Outside Mirror - Inoperable

SONATA LEVER ADJUSTED OUTSIDE MIRROR REPAIR

Should a lever adjusted out side mirror become inoperable because the adjustment cable slipped out of position, the following procedure will describes how to repair the adjustment mechanism rather than replacing the mirror assembly.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove the interior cover.
Note: Use care when removing the cover to prevent any damage.

2. Pull up on the rubber boot and felt.

3. While pushing gently on the mirror glass move the control knob in the opposite direction in order to reinsert the cable end into the slot.

4. Squeeze the top of the slot opening closed with a pair of pliers.
Note: Inspect the cable for any damage that might have occurred during the crimping procedure.

5. Reinstall the boot and felt and locate them properly to prevent wind or water leaks.

6. Reinstall the interior cover.
