Wiper Switch: Service and Repair

The lighting, dimmer, turn signal/hazard and wiper/washer switches are all incorporated into the multi-function switch assembly.
1. Remove steering wheel as described under STEERING WHEEL.
2. On except 1989 Excel, remove lower cover or crash pad.
3. On Elantra, Scoupe and 1990-92 Excel models, disconnect rheostat electrical connector.
4. On all models, remove column shroud, then disconnect multi-function switch electrical connectors.
5. Remove multi-function switch assembly from steering column.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
