Clearing Codes

To clear a fault code following an Air Bag System repair:

1. Follow steps 1 thru 8 in Code Retrieval.
2. Select "3" (SPECIAL TEST") from the MUT menu. The following menu will be displayed:

1. SIMLTD VEH SPD*
2. DRIVE RECORDER
3. ERASE DIAG.

* Not currently used

3. Select "3" from the menu. The following menu will be displayed:

AIR BAG
ERASE DIAG.CODE?

4. Select the "YES" function key on the MUT keypad. The following menu will be displayed:

AIR BAG
ID NBR:39
INPUT ID NBR.

5. Enter a "3" followed by a "9", then select the "YES" function key on the MUT keypad. The fault code should be erased.
6. If the following message is displayed:

CAN NOT ERASE !
PLEASE CHECK
SYSTEM OR
CONDITION

the fault code cannot be erased and the Air Bag Control Module must be replaced.
